Hide and Seek

Don't think George has quite got the jist of it... But oh how funny it is! I've literally been crying with laughter when I notice his attempts in hiding... Or how about; stuffing his head behind a cushion on the sofa, his whole bum still sticking out! Or, under the table... Or, just next to me... shouting 'Here I am' as I open my eyes after counting to ten!

His excitement when he finds me is also priceless! He giggles and giggles... Hide and Seek rules!

ps. Almost wet myself laughing the other day when I looked at little Stella's blog, who also likes playing hide and seek. Her best hiding place was behind the hallway closet door, her whole legs sticking out on the floor and her head turned the other way as if 'If I can't see mummy coming to look for me, she can't see me either'...

Beautiful vista!

This is the view outside our bedroom window Tuesday evening. Nice!

Strike a pose

I managed to put this great top on him the other day, a hand-down from Charlie, my friend Linda's little boy. I love it, but if it doesn't have Spiderman on, it's normally a no-no at the moment... But not today!

Add a cool pair of jeans and his weekend Adidas (on a Tuesday whoooooo... only cause his normal red shoes are falling to pieces) and hey presto, we have ourselves a little model!

The little Gentleman

This is an OLD picture! I'm not pregnant... Just to show you the dress I am wearing today. My mum made it in 1973 and I love it. I don't wear it very often, but when I do, it makes me feel really special. I came downstairs this morning with this on, and George looked up at me and went: 'wooooow'

Thanks George for making me feel so nice!

First scar...

George with a cut in his lip. Bless. He doesn't seem very bothered though, which is good. Hoping it won't leave too much of a mark when he grows older. Fingers crossed.

Sean visiting

This weekend, Sean and baby brother Leon came for a visit. Some 'mine, mine, mine' arguments occured in the beginning of the day, but they soon became partners in crime! George even said Sean is his best friend after they'd left, how sweet!

Me and lovely Sara sat with a glass of champagne and strawberries, watching the beautiful Crown princess Victoria say 'I do' to her Daniel. We had a great day and evening with yummy barbecue, but a scary moment, when George fell over outside and split his lip! It was bleeding loads, and we could see a small hole in the lip. Better safe than sorry, we went to the hospital but they said he would be more traumatised by the (one) stitch they would give him, so we left it alone. And by the time we got back, he was in high spirits again and seemed to have forgotten his fall!

Lovely pics of him and Sean monkeying around in the window!

bits and bobs

Just thought I'd show that we have finally put some art on the walls, and how beautiful and lovely it is to bring in flowers from the garden...

Potty update

Just to let you know, he had two more accidents at dagis, none at home, all week or weekend! Standing ovations for George Leach Squire! Hey hey!

Allow me...

...to brag a little. Well, quite a lot actually... Little George has been without nappies at dagis since Monday! And Tuesday and Wednesday have been totally accident free! Waaooow! How good is that! On Monday he had two accidents, but the staff put a nappy on him for his rest... Not very clever if you ask me. I asked him why he hadn't asked the staff to go to the toilet when he needed to and he said he didn't want so and so to take him... I told him he would have to let so and so take him and that he shouldn't wee in his pants, and he replied 'No mummy, I won't wee in my pants!' and hasn't done since! (Well, apart from when Matt forgot to put the potty out for him yesterday...)

There will be plenty more accidents I'm sure, but I'm just amazed at how quickly he's learnt, we only said bye-bye to the nappies on Saturday morning!

Mummy's birthday

Today I have had a lovely lovely birthday! Matt and little G came in singing (George) with a yummy muffin and loads of pressies! Brilliant start to the day! Matt got started on my cakes (he made two amazing cakes, one carrot cake and one ginger and apple cake!) and then I went out and had a coffee in the sun! It must have been one of the hottest days so far this year, great stuff!

Dad and Eva arrived early, as per usual, but this time they had a good excuse, they had to go back to Trosa for a big dinner thingy. Everyone else arrived around two. Matt cooked up a feast of kofte wraps, yum yum, followed by the above mentioned cakes!

And I had some lovely gifts, thank you all for the nice plants and flowers, coffee grinder, vouchers, a little money, vases, top, and not to forget - tickets to Sex and the City 2!

George didn't do a single mistake in his pants today, what a good boy! Him and Frank explored the woods and had the bestest time!

Today's been a very good day!

Bbq in Örnsberg

Yesterday, we went to see Andie, Maria and little Olivia for a bbq! George was out of his nappies for the first time! He did soooo well at home, and when we arrived at Andie and Maria's he wee'd up against a stone, little cutie, and later up against a tree (even though most ended up on his trousers that time..). Then they started playing and he forgot everything... So he wee'd in his trousers once and pooed in his other trousers... yey! But he did entertain Olivia whilst doing it so I suppose not too bad ha ha!

Lunch with the cat

George was protesting a little about having lunch, so I invited Mr Cat along. Worked a treat. Oh, and isn't our seating area by the window looooovely!

Tall little fella!

George is growing quite tall! He's now 96 cm long! 37.8 inches! Not a wee man anymore.

Cousin Dylan visiting!

The young Read family arrived late on Friday evening. Dylan got extremely excited over George's red car and tractor and wasn't particularly happy going to bed, but he was so so tired that it didn't take him long to fall asleep.

In the morning, it didn't take more than a minute before they were playing together! Dyland was saying 'Ca ca ca ca' (car) and George was nodding understandingly haha!

We took the bus into town and walked around Gamla Stan. Matt went to his football game and we continued our walk to Söder. Both boys had woken up by then and George was very happy to spend some play time at the park at Nytorget! Bus back and then a deliscious risotto by Master Chef Matt!

Sunday was Simon's birthday! Matt had made him a cake and Dylan was ecstatic! Cake for breakfast! It was Mother's day too and Matt had bought me a cute tea container/jar thing. Very nice thanks!

We walked down to Boo Trädgård and along the water, it is so beautiful this time of year and we're really grateful for living in this wonderful area! Prepared a yummy bbq in the evening, and both kids were a little difficult to put to bed, perhaps a little too much fun...

All in all a very pleasant weekend indeed!

Berlin Bliss! Saturday and Auf wiederseen

Saturday was spent in the rain... In a cosy cafe for scrumptious breakfast and then we went to the amazing Jewish Holocaust Memorial 'place'. These massive blocks of concrete which are slightly tilted in different directions, slightly different in height. The ground goes deeper as you walk towards the center of the installation which adds to the experience. There was a museum there aswell, and it was so so moving. Amazing. Jo was saying she quite enjoyed it being so horrible outside with all the rain, so that we didn't mind staying inside the museum for so long. I couldn't agree more.

And then Laura got her curry wurst at last, and Tim, being the 'Two-Christmas-Dinners' man, was very tempted to have another one. Probably good that he didn't cause the burgers we ordered at the restaurant later that evening, was gigantic!

Sunday morning, me and Matt was catching the return flight at 10.00. Matt knocks on the door as I'm having a shower and asks if I have the car key? Aaaaaarrrrrghhh, it is in the bag Matt mistook for his at the airport!!! When he picked up the book and showed me on the train, he put the car key in the bag pocket... I rung and rung and rung the girl, but no answer. She rung when we were at the airport, but by then there was no time to go back for it. So, we had to sit nice and patiently to wait for my brother to drop our other key off at Skavsta airport, 2.5 hours after we'd landed...

It was very nice to come home!
