Swim school diploma

George finished his week of swim school on Friday. Got a diploma and a Penguin Pin. Not quite there yet, but practice practice practice!

Summer rain

We are having some amazing summer days here at the moment, and today was no exception. However, half way through our beach life at Linda's summer house, we got caught in extreme downfall that came from nowhere! George and Charlie enjoyed it though, but thought it was a little chilly ha ha

Final days in Österlen

On Friday, we woke up to beaming sun and hot temperatures! Another beach day! Said goodbye to Farmor and Chris and headed to the beach once again! Got back to the house late afternoon and made burgers and dinner outside.

Since we weren't quite ready to leave Österlen just yet, we'd booked another house for a couple of nights, just outside Gärsnäs, in Stiby. An artist's studio loft type house, with stunning views over the fields! Just perfect with a little change to end our stay in Österlen. Went to a great flea market in Simrishamn 'Suckarnas Gång' on Saturday morning, before returning to the house in Borrby with the car loaded with finds! And then on to the new house!

Went to Olof Viktors for ice-cream, another must-visit when going to Österlen. Then on to visit Lena Stockenstand with family in Tommarp! George and Maja had a great time and Axel dared Billy Finn to jump off the playhouse roof...

Sunday was spent with the Stockenstrands on Kyl beach, which was nice, but not as nice as Knäbäckshusen... Went over to theirs for a nice bbq in the evening, and Maja told her mum she thought George was very handsome and wanted to marry him! She even offered to pay him for a kiss ha ha!

Monday morning we headed up to Per in Falkenberg, via a lunch stop in Båstad. Nice to show Båstad to Matt, but after Österlen, it couldn't compare... Falkenberg was hot hot, but nice for the kids to see their cousins again! Tuesday we drove back to Stockholm, leaving Per and Co in 34 degrees stuffy weather..

Knäbäckshusen again!

We loved the beach at Knäbäckshusen so much we decided to go again! Even though the weather wasn't as nice as last time, we still had a great time! Afterwards, we drove to Mandelmanns Trädgårdar, but unfortunately the café was closed. We were allowed to walk around in the gardens though, and that was wonderful! Beautiful flowers, pigs, cows and apple orchards. Herb garden and a green house absolutely full of tomatoes of all kinds!

Ystad and Pizza at Friden!

Matt downloaded the Wallander app whilst walking around Ystad! What a lovely town! Korsvirkeshus and cobble stoned streets. The evening was lined up with renowned pizzas at Friden, and they did live up to the reputation - Delicious!

The most amazing beach in Sweden

Must be! Took us straight back to Thailand! Knäbäckshusen it's called and we love it! Afterwards, we went to Dalängarna Organic Bakery for greatcoffee and home made bullar and muffins.

Borrby house moments

Some moments from the house worth sharing. L O V E the bed cupboards!

Sandhammaren and Kafferosteriet

Monday offered some nicer weather so we headed to the beach, Christine in true English, cardigan style! Amazing sand dunes, and almost empty of people (perhaps the chilly winds had something to do with that, or just the fact that it was still off season..).

After some extensive sand building and water shooting, we went to Kafferosteriet in Löderup for lunch! Amazing pizzas, great apple must and lots of craft beers to Matt's delight! And then we headed to Löderups Strandbad for some crazy golf complete with a cherry tree, followed by another beach stroll!

Rain in Simrishamn

Our first day in Österlen was a fairly wet one. We decided to go to Simrishamn, a small cute town, with a very cool Auto museum (Chris and Matt loved it!) and Apoterkarens Trädgård, a café/restaurant with great food!
