Tummy week 33

So, apart from me looking a little wierd, I thought I'd post a picture on the growing belly. Whilst expecting George, I took quite a lot of photographs of it, but this time, I haven't really. Which isn't fair on the monkey inside, so thought I'd make an effort the last few weeks. Also, since it's fun to compare with last time...

This is from last week, I'm now week 34. And... yesterday, we went for an extra scan (due to my condition and injections), and we couldn't help ask what sort is in there... It's a boy! So George will have a baby brother! We're really happy about it, and super curious of course still, expecially since belly is different and smaller this time.

Brunch at the Taylor's

Celebrated Andy's birthday on Sunday. They'd prepared a yummy brunch, which made us all very drowsy... Olivia was the cutest and she's got a really funny obsession with dresses at the moment, everything revolves about wearing a dress, even her drawings should have dresses... George was a very good boy and looked very cool in his shades on the way over to the Taylor's. The brunch fest was concluded with birthday boy himself doing a very funny dance on Playstation Kinect. Hilarious, and I have it on film, only too big to upload. Lucky you Andy...

Welcome Lucas!

Three weeks ago, this Saturday just gone, little Lucas turned three weeks! Proud parents Kim (my childhood friend) and Cissi invited us around to have a squeeze and a sniff of the little cutie! Me and Cissi will surely spend quite a lot of time together, pushing prams and having lattes ha ha!

2+1=3

This morning, George surprised me quite a bit. We were playing upstairs, George had train and a car, and I had the polar bear and an airplane. George told me to hold the motorcycle too and I said I didn't want to, can't you hold it?

"But mummy, that makes three and I don't have three hands!"

It kind of blew me away! It's ok to think your child is brilliant isn't it!

Hide and snooze...

Playing hide and seek just after lunch is a gamble. Especially if mummy takes too long to try and find you (was tidying up after meal time)...

Just for comparison

Brought out the Leander cradle yesterday, since we're planning on selling it before the baby arrives, and put the money towards a new pushchair.

George jumped in it straight away of course, and I couldn't help snapping a pic and digging out an old one from him being 2 months old, in the same cradle.

New Beanie!

George was over the moon over the prospect that dad would bring home a present from Canada, but late Friday night, he wasn't too happy when it turned out to be a Beanie... Think he had his mind set on a car or truck or some other vehicle...

On Saturday morning though, it was a different story! When he discovered the beanie had a little airplane on the front, he wouldn't take it off! He had it on all day, even as we went to celebrate morfars birthday! As you can see from the pics he thought he looked mega cool in it too!

baby practice

George has all of a sudden taken interest in the doll he got from Stella for his 3rd birthday! He's asked me to help him make it cozy for the baby (not the doll, the baby) in his little black Brio pram and makes sure the baby goes for regular checks at the doctor's (me being the doctor)...

It's all very sweet and it proves that he will become a very loving and caring big brother!

We love you daddy!

Just a little note for daddy Matt to see we miss him loads and look forward to him coming home on Friday!

George drew dad a snowboard and a big tummy on mummy...

Cars and dinos galore!

Ever since a little baby, George has lined up his toys in rows... Quite funny actually. Today, him and farmor brought out all the cars they could find and George put them in a long row... Picture isn't showing the length properly, there was a total of 67 cars and trucks in the line-up! The dinos and animals were put in a circle...

George is quite poorly today. We were actually supposed to have gone to a check-up following the urine/kidney infection he had last August, but he got really hot yesterday afternoon, and since he's been running for wees loads and loads this weekend and complaining about tummy ache, we took him in to Sachsska (children's hospital) last evening to make sure it wasn't another urine infection. They couldn't tell us anything last night, but a doctor will ring me with results tomorrow Thursday, so fingers crossed it is nothing. He also didn't have any detectable infections, but that might be due to us going in at such an early date (since his fever didn't start until yesterday). Either way, fever still high today, but he's a good little boy as long as I keep giving him alvedon/ipren (paracetamol), and he's eaten a little and also been drinking, so he's doing quite ok during the circumstances.

The check-up has been moved a couple of weeks forward.

Nyckelviken!

Farmor arrived to G's delight on Friday! Mummy's last appearance at Hyper Island also went really well so, even though very tired, we managed to have a lovely Friday evening with both crisps and homemade pizza!

Saturday was spent around the house mostly, I couldn't bring myself to do anything, think I overdid it a little last week... Amazing farmor kept George entertained though so I was allowed to take it easy. Our only excursion was to Ica Maxi, not very exciting but essential and it provided us with very tasty steak dinner!

On Saturday I had perked up a little, so we bought some hotdogs and took the pulka (sledge) along to Nyckelviken in the sunshine. Apparently we weren't the only ones who'd had that idea, the bbq area was packed and we had to squeeze our hotdogs in! Full of men around there of course, and it took a woman (me) to suggest to lower the griddle to make sure the dogs cooked a little quicker... haha

George was being a daredevil with his little pulka, going both backwards and forwards!

Snowracer race!

Just found this pic from good friend John John's 4th birthday party, which was celebrated outdoors with hotdogs and treats.

Think we'll have to get George one of these next year, or we'll never hear the end of it!

Creative projects galore!

Last Friday, on my day off, I decided I'd had enough of the mess in our back room, and that it was time for a tidy-up! After a couple of hours, we are now the proud owners of a creative studio! Complete with half transparent storage boxes, full of stuff for all different kinds of fun projects!

Our first creative mission was to create toilet roll people (copied from good friend Alfred's family, who also have a very creative room in their house!) I made the King, George made a man of some sort, then we made Daddy in glasses and beard, and finally we made Jessie the cat! More to come, watch this space!

The little smart dresser

Me and Matt hope that George's dress sense will keep until he gets older! Apart from his love of all things Spiderman or Lightning Mq Queen related, he also loves nice shoes and sometimes surprises us with his choices!

The other morning, he came downstairs wearing chinos, a grey t-shirt and a striped cardigan! He prompted to try on his nice (not-to-be-worn-when-there's-still-snow-outside) shoes and posed away like a right little model haha!

Then again, the other day he tried on my high heels. Maybe his shoe fetisch will lead somewhere else?

Tekniska museet

The other weekend, we took a trip to the Technical museum. Some of the exhibitions were closed, but we still had a great time building lego, learning about female inventions (girl power!) and chinese typewriters!

Best part was Teknorama, the children's area where lots of fun things to explore and learn. My favourite, as always, were the wonky mirrors... Us as the short, fat family made me cry with laughter. George's favourite was the pedalling hoover and of course the airplanes!
