Market day

A very cold and snowy Sunday, but we hit the Gamla Stan Christmas market anyway! It's both annoying and a little fun to play a tourist in your own city. We snacked on some nice Brända mandlar (Burnt almonds) and the Ursula had us all walking to Hötorget to see if she could find some candlelight holders she'd bought in Stockholm a few years ago...

No luck in that department, but it meant we could have a very nice lunch in the PUB house, which we wouldn't have if we'd stayed in Gamla Stan! George was a funny little monkey and played silly games at the table. During our walk back to Södermalm, he fell asleep in the pushchair which was probably a good thing, cause the wind was chiiiilly and horrible.

Back at the house, we were all pretty knackered, apart from George of course, who'd just woken up... Games and fun and a nice late dinner to finish off a very nice weekend.

Pepparkakeland!

After a very nice visit to the Öppna ateljéer (Open studios) in Gustavsberg, where all the ceramist artists open their workshops, we went home and made pepparkakor! Gingerbread biscuits! George decided he wanted to wear his new gingerbread man outfit to look the part. He wanted to make me a big heart 'because I love you very much' (aaah), but when it came out of the oven, he wanted it for himself and I was given a smaller one, 'because I love you smaller...' Thanks!

Decorating the biscuits was fun. Mum (mormor) came in the middle of it and had a go too!

Evening meal was a deliscious deer steak pie, by chef Matto.

Fun in the snow!

It just keeps on coming! Matt and farfar went outside to put up some tree lights, and George of course wanted to join. That done, him and Matt went up the hill, just to come crashing through the snow moments later...

Advent decorations

Last week, the snow hit us! Big time! So to retrieve some nice moss for my advent decorations, I had to grab the big boots and trudge through the deep snow up into the woods and dig in random places where I hoped to find some moss. I succeded and managed to make some pretty nice decorations I think! Matt helped me with the slate 'plates' by smashing an already broken tile into two pieces!

Guest toilet shaping up!

Brilliant Danne came around the other week to help us put up the wallpaper in the downstairs toilet. It looks so so nice

Mr Potatohead and new pyjamas

Mr Potatohead, birthday present from Tim and Laura, has had many outfits the last couple of weeks.

And new Spiderman pyjamas from mormor is a clear favourite. In the mornings, George even talks about himself in third person, and prefers to be called Spiderman. Spiderman loooooves sandwiches.

Updates galore

Been a little slack lately. Or actually, been so busy at work and entertaining guests that there have been no spare time to indulge myself in blogging...

George best comments last week:

I told him to be careful when crossing the road at dagis, so that there are no cars coming:

"Om en bil kör på mig, blir jag platt då?"
"If a car hits me, will I become flat?"

And moments later, inside our car:

"När jag blir vuxen ska jag köra bil och ha mobiltelefon"
"When I grow up I will drive a car and have a mobile telephone"

Yup.

The little sprout

Just got back from our scan! There's a little one in there indeed, and when yawning, me and Matt saw a resemblence with a baby dino! Which the nurse didn't find very amusing haha...

Anyhow, everything looks normal, everything is in the right place, so fingers crossed it will all go well, and the little one will see daylight on the 9th of April (or earlier if anything like brother George).
