Lunch with friends

Hanna, Kiwi, Stella and Adele came for lunch today. So did Andie, Maria and Olivia. The kids were mental but had a great time. Billy Finn was the best, he slept for over two hours, which meant I could sit down and have lunch and chat with the rest of the bunch. Little Adele is such a ray of sunshine, all smiles for everyone!

It's Bonfire night (Valborg) here in Sweden today, but we were all too tired to do anything this evening, so it's been a slow night on the sofa instead...

Cool Cat!

George went out with Matt this morning, dressed like this. Such a cool cat!

Chillin'

George the poser

I love him love him love him!

Glad Påsk! Happy Easter!

The Easter weekend gave us some lovely sunshine and warm weather. Perfect! We made some chickens, went on an Easter egg hunt and had yummy Easter lunch. The way it should be!

Sleeping like a baby.

How cute is this!

Outfit of the day

George's outfit of the day, 22nd of April, 2011. It was very important to have the jacket draped over the head like this, Batman styley!

The weekend before Billy Finn

We've been busy trying to plan the garden for this season. Went to Plantagen to buy a lot of plants (didn't look so much when they were finally put in the ground, but hopefully they'll grow and spread...) and then Matt and George were busy planting them on the slope! Oh, and Matt painted the concrete wall under our bedroom black! Mucho nice!

A wonderful weekend in the sun, which ended perfectly with the arrival of our little Billy Finn!

Little Billy Finn - born on 18 april 2011 - 4:37 am

So then, nine days late, our little Billy Finn arrived like a shotgun in the early morning hours of Monday the 18th of April. Personally I think he waited to the end of the weekend to ensure his own birthday... Family birthdays on the 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th... And now the 18th.

I started having light contractions in the afternoon, but it wasn't until I felt that loud, light breathing during Midsummer Murders might not be so appreciated by Matt or mum (whom I asked to stay on after arriving in the afternoon, since I felt our little boy would most likely want to come out before the morning) that I went upstairs to lay down to rest and time the contractions. They were by then five minutes apart, and completely handable. This was at nine in the evening.

Around eleven or so, mum came to sit with me to chat, and Matt came up to check on me every fifteen minutes or so. At twelve, I felt the contractions getting stronger and they were only four minutes apart. And around one (I think), we decided to go in to the hospital since they were by then only three minutes apart.

At the hospital, I was already open 5 cm, which felt really good. The contractions were still very manageable, which was nice. There were silly jokes and stupid comments all around... This was at two in the morning.

About an hour later, or sometime around half past three, I think, about every other contraction felt like it was going to snap me in half! Great! I asked to be examined again, and had only opened one centimeter in two hours! One centimeter! 'Pop the bubble' I shouted! And so they did.

A couple of back-breaking contractions later and the 'push reflex' (krystningsreflex) started and I couldn't hold back. 30 mins later he was out! How about that!

Matt was brilliant all along and made me feel like I could do anything. We both got quite emotional when Billy arrived, and the experience was completely different from when George was born. Or, the actual time up until George was born I should say, cause from the time he was out, it felt like it did when Billy was out. Wonderful. Amazing. Emotional.

And so, lucky me, will have one very good birth to remember, and I was feeling so well, and missing George, that we were allowed to go home only ten hours later, on Monday afternoon. George was being so lovely and excited, but also a little distant, probably a little confused to the fact that little brother is finally here, not just a moving lump inside mummy's tummy.

So now we are a family of four. We have two sons. Life is good.

King George

George decided he wanted to wear a crown on Saturday, so we went ahead and made one out of paper and sparkly things. He's been wearing it A LOT since then!

On Sunday we went out to Siggesta Gård to visit their flea market and have an ice-cream. No particular bargains to be found, but I bought George a funny little nodding dinosaur for 10 kr, pretty chuffed about that. Stopped at Plantagen on the way home so that Matt could buy some more plant pots for his beloved tomato plants (He runs straight up to see the daily progress of his crop when he gets in from work, me and G hardly even get a hello...).

Josefin, Alfred and little Herman came round and we sat outside in the sunshine whilst George tried to get Alfred to play in the woods and all Alfred wanted was to dig with the digger... Matt came outside to potter about and tidy up the garden. Both kids helped him move strips of cut off grass, Alfred being almost as strong as Matt haha!

Home made fish fingers for dinner concluded a very nice Sunday indeed.

Star Wars lingo

George and most of the kids around him has got an obsession with Star Wars at the moment. Not that none of them have seen it or anything, but it's just one of those things...

He exclaimed this morning that his robot socks are 'Ardoo-Diddu' socks! Hilarious! We tried to get him to say R2 D2, but he just kept saying Ardoo-Diddu... Cutie!
