Tudor Arms Family Day

On Saturday 17th of June, Matt's football team had organised a 'Family Day'. Luckily, the weather was nice, a break in between a lot of rainy days, and there was lots of fun on offer! George particularly liked the 'human bungee' where you run with a belt attached which pulls you back when you stretch the rope.

A great day out!

Scarlett Gallery Night

We had a second 'opening' at the Scarlett Gallery on Friday the 16th of June. The turnout was great considering it was just a 'come along and see what we're about' kind of do, and secondly, it was on a Friday. We keep getting such great response to the whole thing, which is really nice. Hopefully we can keep it going and it will pay us back what we put in at least...

First laugh!

Last night, whilst at a very nice dinner party at Josefin's, little Billy Finn laughed out loud for the first time! Totally unexpected, but he really chuckled and did it over and over! It almost made me cry, it is such an amazing thing, hearing your child's first laugh. A shame it didn't happen at home so that Matt and George could have heard it, but no doubt he'll do it again very soon. Better up, Josefin pulled out a video camera so we have it on film! Will post as soon as she sends it to me! L O V E L Y

Silly, sillier, silliest

Lingonberries and Blueberries

Last Thursday, it was the summer celebrations at George's dagis. The kid's theme for the spring had been Elsa Beskow (you English who haven't heard of this wonderful author, look it up on google, her stories are so lovely) so they were all dressed up as lingonberries and blueberries! Or, us parents were told to dress them in red or blue and that they'd made hats at dagis.

Couldn't find an all red outfit for Mr G so I found a stripy top, checkered shorts and red spiderman socks! He came out looking like a little French garcon! Ha ha, only the baguette was missing! Ah well, he looked cute and kept shouting "Hello mummy!" throughout the performance.

Superstar name!

Billy Finn has had an addition to his name: Cassius. His full name is Billy Finn Cassius Leach Squire (very long, we know, but how often do you say it all like that...).

For those of you who don't know, the name Billy Finn is a name picked by me and Matt. Billy, 'cause it is a little cheeky and suitable for a little brother, and also pronounced the same in English and Swedish. And we like it. Finn is to honour my late step dad Arnfinn, who so sadly and suddenly, left us last year. It means so much that our little boy carries a part of his name. And rather than treating them as two separate names, we liked the idea of a double name - Billy Finn. Even though, most likely, most of the time, it will be just Billy.

The name Cassius sort of fell into our laps and both me and Matt think it is über cool. That's allowed isn't it? To choose a cool name for your child, just because you can... If you ask me, George Melton is pretty cool too, so these two better do good in life, with names like that hs ha

Herman's sleeping habits

Went for a nice walk with Josefin and Herman yesterday, and ended up at Boo trädgård for a coffee and yummy rhubarb and raspberry crumble! It really is one of the most beautiful places to be at, and it's so close to home, I'm such a lucky girl!

Herman is such a happy little chappy and determined not to miss a single thing of what's going on... That's why he's currently always falling asleep with his head on the bumper bar if in his pushchair. Alert until the very last second...

I wore...

... my new hair piece at the birthday parties!

Birthdays galore!

On Sunday we went to both Stella's 4 year old birthday party (arrived late and left early), and Olivia's 3 year old birthday party (arrived late...). Mighty stressful indeed but still very nice!

Missed taking pics at Stella's party but remembered at Olivia's. We bought her a 'kangaroo ball' which was V E R Y appreciated by all the kids! Phew!

By the way, George told me in the car yesterday that he wanted to go to Stella's house to play some day soon, cause he hasn't seen her bedroom yet... ('Jag har inte sett hennes sovrum')

Billy Finn at the gallery

Took Billy in to the gallery since it was 'our' Saturday to keep it open. He seemed very impressed with all the prints on the walls!

Göteborg. In Stockholm.

Since George stayed two nights with mum, me and Matt decided to treat ourselves to a dinner out of the house... We went to the restaurant Göteborg in Hammarby Sjöstad. Absolutely wonderful location and atmosphere. Food was ok, not more, but we had a lovely time and Billy Finn slept through dinner too, giving us some time to talk and just chill out.

We took a stroll through the area before heading home, another beautiful summer's evening!

Urban Deli with Petra

Last Friday, mum came to pick up George for two nights at the caravan. Matt had a football game so I asked Petra if she wanted to meet up after work? A wonderful summer's evening, and we ended up at Urban Deli, sharing a bottle of Rosé (naughty), some löjromstoast (yum yum) and marängswiss (absolutely deliscious!). Had a lovely time catching up, and around ten o'clock, Matt came by after the game to give me a lift home.

A great evening! Oh, and Petra treated me to the meal, as a late birthday present! Thanks darlin!

Pleasant Wednesdays

So, I'm one week behind, updating the blog, but things have been non-stop so that's my excuse!

On Wednesdays, some 'mothers-on-maternity-leave' with kids at George's dagis, meet up and go for walks and end up with fika (Swedish word for drinking coffee and eating cakes and chatting... Very much a mother-on-maternity thing to do!). A very nice little occasion indeed.

Last week, the weather girls promised sunshine, but instead it ended up chucking it down! We managed to seek shelter and stayed there for some time, watching all the school children getting soaked on the lawn by Boobadet.

By George

George snaps! I like!

Boo badet

We left George at dagis on Tuesday, so that Matt and Andie could finish off the 'flower bed framing', but picked him up early and took a walk down to Boo badet and stuck our feet in the water!
